Sewing buttons are a very basic tool for apparel. The button is used not only to close or open the dress but also as a fashion. It increases the value of the dress. Basically, we use plastic, metal, wood, bone, pearl, and coconut shells for the buttons.Normally size of the button are measured by “Ligne”. 1 ligne = 0.635 mm. There are various types of buttons according to ligne number. Buttons may have different sizes like 12L, 16L, 18L, 24L, 28L, 32L, 36L, etc. There are also a few special types of button such as snap buttons, shank buttons, printed buttons, horn buttons, chalk buttons, decorative buttons and rivets.
